Greater Lawton Rotary Club

Rotary Community Service Project: "Kids World"

Here's just another great example of how we are commited to "Serving Above Self" in the Lawton Community.  Every second Saturday of the month; we take time to share theme based Arts & Craft projects with the Youth In Lawton's Central Mall. As you can see; this is also a great way of bringing our family members. To help pass along what we believe in as Greater Lawton Rotarians!

2011 Project of the Year:
Installation of the Fort Sill Girl Scout Hut Flagpole

For many years, the Girl Scout Hut was located on post at Fort Sill, OK.
Below you can see the Flagpole that existed for many years; even in the late 1950's the pole had shown some wear and tear.  It was time to help these special young ladies get a chance to have a Flag pole to be proud of!

As part of the United Way's Community Day,  the Lawton Rotary Club participated by installing a new flag pole at the historic site. Looks like we're working hard by flying "Old Glory" again for a new generation!

The Rotary was recognized by local Girl Scouts Troops in a special dedication ceremony.

During  final phase of the Project; a plaque and special landscaping was installed. In order to provide future Girl Scouts a reminder of our organization.  Great job Rotarians!!!

As a token of appreciation, some special "Thank You" cards were provided by the Girl Scouts to the Club.
